1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Kermo (kermo.co.uk), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service. Kermo is intended for use by individuals located in the United Kingdom.
2a. Accounts & Sign-In
You can create a Kermo account with your email address or by signing in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your credentials, and your Google account, secure, and for all activity under your account. Google sign-in is provided by Google and is subject to Google's own terms. Kermo does not control and is not responsible for Google's services or availability. If you lose access to your Google account, you can recover your Kermo account using the password reset option with the same email address.
- You must provide accurate information and be at least 18 years old, or have a parent or guardian's consent.
- We may suspend accounts that breach these Terms.
2. Service Description & Data Disclaimers
Kermo aggregates publicly available vehicle information and fuel station pricing. While we retrieve data directly from official sources (including DVSA and DVLA), we cannot guarantee 100% real-time accuracy, uninterrupted API availability, or error-free feeds. The official vehicle V5C logbook remains the definitive record for your vehicle.
3. Limitation of Liability & Reminders
Vehicle MOT and road tax reminders provided by Kermo are for assistance and convenience only. The registered keeper remains legally responsible for keeping their vehicle taxed, tested, and roadworthy under UK road traffic legislation. Kermo accepts no liability for any fixed penalty notices, fines, impoundment, or damages resulting from missed deadlines.
4. Permitted Use & Fair Usage
You agree not to scrape, bulk query, reverse engineer, or disrupt the operation of Kermo. We reserve the right to limit vehicle lookups or terminate access for accounts that violate fair usage or engage in automated extraction.
5. AI-Powered Scanning — Accuracy & Limitations
Kermo provides optional AI scanning features powered by third-party AI technology. These tools are provided as a convenience to assist you in entering vehicle-related data quickly. You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI scan results are indicative only and may be inaccurate. Always verify the extracted Vehicle Registration Mark (VRM), fuel cost, mileage, or tyre specification before relying on it.
- Kermo accepts no liability for any loss, cost, or consequence arising from an incorrect AI scan result, including but not limited to: vehicle misidentification, erroneous cost records, or incorrect tyre fitment.
- You must not submit images containing personal data beyond the vehicle or instrument being scanned (e.g. faces, identifiable backgrounds).
- Misuse of the AI scanning feature, including attempts to circumvent rate limits, is prohibited under Section 4.
6. AI Scan Quotas & Fair Use
To ensure fair access for all users and protect against abuse, AI scanning is subject to daily usage limits. Registered (logged-in) users receive a higher daily scan allowance than guest users. Limits reset at midnight UTC. Kermo reserves the right to adjust, suspend, or remove AI scanning features at any time. Continued use of the service following any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
7. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
